This celestial northern lights landscape stops everyone who sees it in their tracks, & was a favorite of the 2022 holiday season.
Sometimes I have no idea where a painting came from or how I managed to create it, but this one…
This one, I know.
This came from a place of deep love, trust, and self-acceptance.
Creating this painting felt like the ultimate act of watercolor surrender. There was no controlling the paint, the water, or the outcome… this was made during a time of illness & fever, when I was looking to feeling something other than “sick”… it was made with no expectations. Full surrender. I played with several different types of watercolor paint & ink, and different texture-makers like salt, alcohol, and touch… then walked away. The next morning, I was stunned. The sky had dried in the most beautiful way.
A tribute to the power of surrender and letting the universe take over.
