This piece was an unexpected delight! It was inspired by the idea of embroidery work & busy rifle-paper-co fabrics. I painted this while embracing my word of the year “PLAY”. There’s something about just letting go and not thinking… combined with the flow of the water, the abstract messy flowers, the handwritten “lovelovelove” scrawl, and all the tiny mixed media details and painted-embroidery accents like the gold French Knots… all these came together to make this painting one of my most playful in a long time.
Painted on French 100% cotton cold press watercolor paper (Arches) with vibrant professional-grade watercolor paints.
